NEW ADDRESS EFFECTIVE 8/26/20: 320 EAST THIRD STREET, WILLIAMSPORT. After a year of piloting low-cost neuter-spay days at various locations, in January of 2014 we opened a permanent full-time spay/neuter clinic for cats. Our clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, Friday 9 AM to 4 PM. Our experienced staff can accept pet, stray, barn, feral or community cats that are healthy enough for surgery. We do not have geographic or income restrictions. All cats are welcome to use our service.
Caregivers/owners should call the clinic for an appointment. Cats are dropped off in the mornings between 7:30 and 9:00 AM. Cats brought after 9 AM may not be accepted for surgery that day regardless of whether they have an appointment. They are are ready to be picked up later the same day. The cost for spay or neuter surgery for pets is $45.00 for neuters and $50.00 for spays or $40 or ferals (with an ear tip) plus a fee of $12.00 for a mandatory rabies vaccine. Cats with fleas will be treated with Revolution for $10.
Cats will receive a complete physical, a nail trim, ears cleaned and a parasite check in addition to surgery. Other vaccines, leukemia testing, and medication for internal and external parasites are also available. A rabies certificate and medical record will be included at time of checkout.
Cats should be at least 8 weeks of age or 2 pounds in order to be spayed/neutered. They need to be 12 weeks of age to receive their rabies vaccine. You should wait until a nursing mother’s kittens are approximately 4-5 weeks old or eating some solid food before having her spayed. They are still able to nurse after being spayed. Females can get pregnant again two weeks after giving birth.
We also offer wellness appointments for cats that need their annual vaccines, parasite treatment or need antibiotic for upper respiratory conditions. We offer nail trims and sanitary clips as well. We have an $22.00 litter fee for up to 6 kittens up to 16 weeks of age. Physicals for all of the kittens are included in the $22.00 fee. Any vaccines, treatment or medications are additional. Any cats over 4 months old must be spayed/neutered in order to use our wellness services.
Our staff veterinarian, Dr. Meghan Welch, has over twenty five years experience as a vet. She worked fourteen of those years in her own feline only practice. She has also worked as a shelter vet in Maryland.
