Beckoning Cat Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization formed by a small group of like-minded people whose primary concern is to address the problem of cat overpopulation in our area. Although there are numerous local services for the placement of unwanted cats, these providers are often overwhelmed by the number of homeless animals. At Beckoning Cat Project, we believe that the problem of “too many cats and not enough homes” can be addressed through educational outreach, coordination of services, and a comprehensive neuter-spay program that reaches all cats in our neighborhoods. We are committed to working toward a community in which all cats have care.
After a year of piloting low-cost neuter-spay days at various locations, we opened a permanent full-time neuter-spay clinic We are working with other local organizations and individuals to coordinate our records and services. We have spayed or neutered over 31,000 cats since opening in January 2014.
We have initiated our Compassionate Communities program. We are hoping to work with individual townships and boroughs and get them to commit to assisting their residents with TNR.
